Triton Shows Commitment to Nuneaton Town FC Community Plans01-07-2010 Posted by: Ian Brown

Nuneaton based Triton Showers is ‘on the ball’ as it announces its partnership with Nuneaton Town Football Club, unveiling the new name of the club’s stadium as the ‘Triton Showers Community Arena’, and giving its support to the club’s many community initiatives.

This new relationship means that the Boro’s community-based projects can now take a big step forward with the formation of the ‘Nuneaton Town Community Foundation’ - a not-for-profit charity created by NTFC, with assistance from Triton, which has the specific aim of supporting children within the Nuneaton area.

The renaming of the stadium as the ‘Triton Showers Community Arena’ is just the start of the Boro’s partnership with Triton. It is hoped the site will become a strong focal point for the Foundation’s schemes, as well as a recognisable base for local activities and groups from within the area.

The Foundation already has a number of healthy living projects in the pipeline, including the allocation of allotment space for growing fresh vegetables, cookery classes designed to promote healthy eating, football coaching sessions and a graffiti area, with many more ideas in development.

Lorna Fellowes, Managing Director of Triton, said:

“This year Triton celebrates its 35th birthday and, as one of the longest standing employers in the Nuneaton area, what better way to mark the occasion than to help launch a community sponsorship initiative like this.

“It is great to be able to get involved with a club that is local to Triton and its employees, and to help make such worthy ideas a reality. We look forward to being part of the new Nuneaton Town Community Foundation and to working closely with chairman, Ian Neale, and the team at the club to reinvest in the local community in as many different ways as possible.

“There are already so many exciting projects planned for 2010 with which Triton will be involved, all with the aim of helping encourage children in the area to lead healthy active lifestyles.   This is just the start of what we believe will be a very rewarding initiative for all.”

Ian Neale, Chairman of the Boro’ commented:

“To echo Lorna's sentiment, this is so much more than just football. We have big plans to make  Nuneaton Town Football Club a focal point for the area, providing accessible projects and space for everyone in the local community, especially children and those from underprivileged areas.

“The renaming of the stadium brings the club together with a renowned local brand and employer, and instantly gives the club a strong link for people visiting or who live here. Going forward we would like to see the stadium playing host to more than football, offering a recognisable place for the Foundation’s activities as well as providing a meeting place for groups and associations from the surrounding region.

“We believe the partnership with Triton will ultimately be of real benefit to the local community, creating a real sense of pride throughout the area.”
