As the popularity of inclusive showering products continues to grow, Triton’s Safeguard T100 Care shower is the first showering product to receive the coveted new RNIB Reference accreditation, recognising its ergonomic design and wealth of beneficial features.   

Passing the independent, ergonomic assessments with flying colours, the new RNIB Reference measured the Safeguard T100 Care shower against seven internationally recognised principles, demonstrating its ease of use for as many people as possible whatever their age or ability. The seven standards included equality of use for all users; flexibility to accommodate a wide range of abilities and preferences; simple and intuitive to use; perceivable information; tolerance for error; low physical effort; and the size and space to ensure ease of use regardless of the user’s body size, posture or mobility.

This accreditation reflects the close attention to detail paid throughout the development of the Safeguard T100 Care electric shower , incorporating user friendly details such as a large start/stop button that covers the width of the unit for easy access even when the user is seated. A clearly labelled temperature lever with raised number dial and large text has also been included in accordance with RNIB recommendations.  

Other important features include an ergonomic showerhead with three extended levers for ease of use by those with limited manual dexterity, an extended riser rail, colour-contrasting moving pasts to help identify the different features, and audible bleeps when the start/stop button is pushed, the low flow indicator operates and the unit switches off.  

Additionally conforming to the BEAB care standard for instantaneous water heaters, the Safeguard T100 Care is the ideal choice for the elderly, visually impaired and those with physical disabilities, plus the easy-to-use design is suitable for people with learning disabilities.

Its unique three stage thermostatic process, ensures that there are no dangerous temperature spikes even when there are fluctuations in water pressure. This is controlled by the regulating valve which automatically adjusts the flow of cold water entering the heater to compensate for temperature fluctuations and resulting in a consistently regulated temperature.

Also a real problem-solver, the Safeguard T100 Care will continue to perform where there is fluctuating water pressure, keeping the temperature within 1°C of the chosen setting even if the pressure drops as low as 0.5 bar.
