Who? What? Where? & When?...
Developed using Triton’s advanced Safeguard Care technology, the launch of Triton’s unique–to-market Safeguard Care Pumped thermostatic electric shower is the first - and only - pumped shower currently available able to provide customers with sought after BEAB Care and RNIB endorsed safety.
With no accreditation previously available, Triton has worked with BEAB throughout the development of this innovative thermostatic technology to create the first BEAB Care safety mark for the pumped shower sector, setting the benchmark for the industry.
Additionally, the Safeguard Care Pumped carries the sought after RNIB endorsement for inclusive design, ease of use and overall safety right from the start; an endorsement previously only awarded to Triton’s Safeguard T100 Care thermostatic shower in late 2008.
With the inclusive, thermostatic and electric markets are currently growing at a rapid rate year per year, plus a general shift towards thermostatic control as the showering norm, this latest addition fills a lucrative product gap in this expanding market.
Suitable for private housing, healthcare and social housing adaptation projects, the advanced Safeguard Care Pumped shower incorporates Triton’s innovative ‘three stage thermostatic control system’ with its own built-in pump, it is able to deliver thermostatic temperature control in compliance with the BEAB care standard. The Safeguard Care Pumped also overcomes the problem of poor mains water pressure as it is connected to the cold water cistern with as little as 75mm head of water.
It also incorporates user friendly details such as a large start/stop button for easy accessibility even when the user is seated, and a clearly labelled temperature lever with raised numbers and large text. Colour-contrasting moving parts help identify the different features, audible bleeps sounds when the start/stop button is pushed, plus an ergonomic showerhead with three finger-grips, a long riser rail and hose to accommodate those with limited dexterity.
For installers, the Safeguard Pumped has the advantage of incorporating a choice of water and cable entry points that make working with the unit straightforward.
In addition, when installing a shower into a flat, level-access wetroom, all of the Safeguard Care range, including the Pumped model, have universal connectivity to level-access waste pumps. Each can be linked to activate when the shower is in use, eliminating dangerous pools of water forming on the floor of the shower area and providing the real opportunity for add on sales.
Lorna Fellowes, who celebrates 10 years as managing director at Triton this year, said:
“With more people wanting to remain in their own homes, more retirement developments being built and even families now wanting that added peace of mind and safety when it comes to choosing a shower, the thermostatic sector of the electric market has, and continues, to grow.
“With the surprising amount of low pressure water areas in the UK, being able to trust a product proven to provide thermostatic safety is essential for this sector. We pride ourselves on pushing the boundaries at Triton, and by taking our Safeguard Care range further with the creation of the innovative pumped model, merchants can now give customers the choice of a shower that is not only easy to use but is simple to install and offers BEAB Care and RNIB performance and reliability whatever the installation.”
Particularly in the current climate, it is important for installers to have products that can ensure a first class service that customers can really feel the benefit from. Tested to destruction for true product reliability throughout its development the Safeguard Care Pumped has a two year guarantee and, if ordered before 5pm, forms part of the rapid replenishment service for delivery the following day.
