In May 1975 Triton Showers began as Triton Aquatherm Ltd manufacturing one shower in a garage in Atherstone.

It became Triton Showers in June 1986 prior to being acquired by Norcros Holdings Ltd in September 1987. Triton is the UK brand leader in electric showers and has held this market dominant position since the mid 1980’s. The original aims of Triton Aquatherm are still valid today. Triton designs products which are better than that of competitors in terms of installation, ease of use, performance and styling at affordable prices.

By the late 1980’s Triton Showers had achieved a milestone by having in excess of 2 million shower products in UK homes and this figure continues to grow year on year, a giant step from the commencement of production in September 1975. Triton Showers now employs over 350 people and operates from its offices and purpose built manufacturing site in Nuneaton.

The growth in recent years has been due to Triton’s increased market share and new product development.

Triton’s customer base is wide and we sell to all the outlets where consumers would expect to buy our products, e.g. DIY stores, Builders and Plumbers Merchants, Electrical Wholesalers and Home Shopping outlets. Export sales are a growing part of our organisation and our products can be found as far afield as Europe and South East Asia, with its largest customer being in Ireland.

In September 1987 Triton was acquired by Norcros Holdings Limited. Norcros is an international group of companies united by an overriding purpose of providing quality products and services, however, operating responsibility rests with the management of each subsidiary Company.

The development of new products, new manufacturing and new distribution systems, together with the improvement of quality throughout the group, will ensure that it maintains its competitive edge in today’s ever-changing market place.

In June 1989 Norcros acquired Metlex on behalf of Triton Showers. Metlex manufacture bathroom fittings which complement the Triton shower range.

Throughout the 1990’s, Triton continued to dominate the shower market on the back of innovation and a continued marketing led approach. This set the company apart from the competition as it enabled us to offer customers superior products and support. By the time we celebrated our 30th anniversary in 2005, Triton had moved to enhance its offer further with next day delivery for customers. 2006 brought further innovation with wireless technology for electric and mixer showers paving the way for further success in the years to come.

May 2007 saw the introduction of a first for Triton electric showers, Triton’s new range of glass and tiled showers bring affordable style to the mass market a marked move away from the traditional electric shower.

July 2007 saw the Norcros group successfully float on the London stock exchange and Triton became a Division of Norcros Group Holdings Limited.
